You are
cordially invited to attend the YCHS Pilgrimage,
organized by the school's Principal Mrs Beverly
Hawthorne, to the original school site in the
district of York Castle, in St. Ann. The past
students association has just been advised about the
event's agenda which will be taking place next
Wednesday, March 19th, 2008. The district is just
south of Claremont. If you wish, you can begin with
the convoy at 8:00 AM from YCHS in Brown's Town as
the Pilgrimage goes through Bamboo, Claremont and
Alderton (view the attached map). Or join the convoy
en route or simply meet everyone at the site in the
district of York Castle, St. Ann for the scheduled
convoy arrival time of 9:00 AM. The agenda for the
day's event is attached and may be subject to some
minor revision according to Mrs. Hawthorne. The YCHS
Principal indicates that the highlight for the event
will be an unveiling, along with some past students,
of a 12ft concrete monument. The monument she points
out includes a marble inscription and is erected at
a cost of some J$300, 000.00. Mrs. Hawthorne has
requested of the past students any assistance that
be may given to offset the cost...as she says: "even
J$1,000.00 from each past student can help".
